Animation Supervisor
Paul’s most recent project was Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Before that he was Animation Supervisor on Invasion: Seasons 1 and 2. The project allowed him to engross himself and stretch the envelope on animated maps for the ferrofluid effects on Animation puppets, allowing for this work to be completed already in animation and saving time further down the pipeline.
While he relished his first supervisor role on Maze Runner: The Death Cure, for which he earned an HPA Awards nomination, Paul embraces any project where he can have a significant impact on character movement, style and performance. With this in mind, he rates the jaguar Proxima in Jungle Cruise as a career favourite, alongside the menacing extra-terrestrials in Invasion.
He received an Annie Awards nomination for The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two in 2021.
Paul draws inspiration from many sources for his craft. As a kid his mind was blown by Disney’s original The Lion King.
After watching amazing animation in projects as different as Finding Nemo and Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as a multimedia demo in high school, the die was cast for Paul and he did a degree in Animation at SAE Creative Media Institute in Byron Bay, Australia.
