Daniel Seah

Before joining Wētā FX, Daniel was CEO at Digital Domain for more than a decade, during which they worked on blockbuster films such as Avengers: Endgame, Terminator: Dark Fate and Aquaman.  Also during his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing post-production facilities beyond the original LA location, in Vancouver, Montreal, Hyderabad, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei. In 2023 he was recognised as one of the Top 25 business leaders in Los Angeles by the National Business Review (NBR).

Born in Malaysia, Daniel grew up in Taiwan and studied law in Beijing and Hong Kong. He worked as an investment banker for Barclays Capital in Hong Kong and London.

As a true global citizen, Daniel has gained a respect and understanding for different cultural environments and is a firm subscriber to the ethos that a company is nothing without its people, which is why he is a perfect fit for Wētā FX.

While citing Stan Lee as a strong influence, Daniel’s movie tastes are much wider than VFX driven superhero films; The Godfather, Groundhog Day and When Harry Met Sally are some of his all-time favourites.
