Head of Production
Having recently produced Wētā’s work for Godzilla vs. Kong and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Kevin’s expertise spans the visual effects process. VFX Producer on Oscar-nominated The Hobbit trilogy (2011–13), he was involved in previs, led Wētā’s onset VFX team for the full live-action and motion-capture shoots, and guided the team of sequence production managers. On The BFG (2016) he worked with Director Steven Spielberg and the mocap crew and he was on set for the live-action shoot for Alita: Battle Angel (2019). Across each project, Kevin is the client’s key liaison at Wētā and has ultimate responsibility for the budget, schedule and delivery.
In 2010, Kevin produced Wētā’s first ride, the King Kong 360 3-D at Universal Studios Hollywood, winning a Visual Effects Society Award.
Building varied experience early on, he was a Production Assistant in ILM’s commercial division and then at Rhythm and Hues. Arriving at Wētā for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), he took on pipeline project management, coding, and working with the camera and miniature departments. An early highlight was producing Wētā’s ‘Travellers’ television commercial, which won him a Gold Clio.
