JONATHAN DYSART

He uses a both technical and artistic skill to generate detailed performances that blur the line between reality and fantasy.

Jonathan has been hooked on creatures since he first saw Gollum at the cinema as a boy. With encouragement from his family and teachers, Jonathan went on to study at Massey University in Wellington, gaining a Bachelor of Design with Honours in 2012. He joined Wētā FX in June 2013 as a Creatures ATD working on The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Jonathan describes his work in the Creatures department as “always exciting and engaging, and full of various challenges”. With every film comes new opportunities, and Jonathan has honed his skills by working hard and learning from those around him.
